Our Little Friend

Fall is a great season, the trees are changing colour and those annoying bees are starting to pack it up for the year. I started thinking on how nice the summer was but also how quickly it passed. It surprises me at how much wildlife we have around us considering we live in town.

We put up a couple of birdfeeders in the backyard and sat out watching the chickadees come and steal seeds, we also had red winged blackbirds, gold finches, and a couple of bluejays. In the same day we saw a red crested woodpecker and a downy pecking away at the trees in front of the house, what a size difference!

We see rabbits, squirrels, and we are hoping that next year we will have our little friend the chipmunk back again enjoying the seeds with the birds. We ended up getting some great shots of the little guy!

We found out after a few weeks that he wasn’t the only one, hopefully they are okay through the winter.
